Two Cases & of mumps Menigoenophalitis

Abstract
Case I.
The first cases is a 6 years old boy who was admitted in the Hospital because of sudden severe headache, vomiting, moderate grade fever and spasm of the upper extremities with sleep disturbance in the night for one days duration.
Laboratory findings on admission are as follows:
Mantoux rection : negative
Chest X-]fay : negative
Spinal fluid : out look : clear
pandy; <+)
sugar; 75mg%
cell count; 473/mmz
cell; Lympiu (++)
smear and culture; negative
On the. third day of the admission swelling of the bilateral parotid gland has developed and he was treated with cortisone 100mg/day for 5 days.
On the second day of the cortisone therapy fever subsided ana the meningeal sympioms were almost disappeared. on the 7th day the findings of the cerebrospinal fluid were improved and on the 12th hospital day he was discharged from the hospital without any sequeiae.
Case ¥±.
The second case is a nine years old boy who has been suffering from moderate grade fever with swelling of the right parotid gland fallowing left parotid gland swelling a week prior to admission.
